Wendy has had long hair of varying lengths, for most of her life. She’s washed it with a variety of shampoos, some a bit more on the natural side, than others. in her 20’s, she’s even tried shampoos that are so toxic, they burned her scalp. Most shampoos are a variety of synthetic oils and surfactant concoctions, that are actually detergents and not shampoos at all.
As her awareness of all of the toxic chemicals in personal care, food, and even some medicines, grew, she went on a mission to make as natural a shampoo as she could. The definition of the word shampoo, is soap specially formulated for hair. The Olive Oil Shampoo was developed, with much trial and error. At first, it was a gel, that was volatile, and become a solid in cold temperatures. She was resistant to a solid shampoo bar, simply because it seemed like it would be difficult to rub something hard on your head and distribute it throughout all of her hair.
Eventually, she took the plunge, and she and Andy developed a solid Olive Oil Shampoo Bar, that works beautifully.

You would think that making an olive oil shampoo bar is like making any other bar of soap. This is a misconception. Olive Oil has a different personality than coconut oil and a mind of it’s own. As the solid shampoo bar developed, Andy added some touches of his own. Over time, Andy formulated the Olive Oil Shampoo Bar into a luxurious, sudsy soap, specially formulated for hair. They decided to have 2 to choose from. Everything the 2 collaborate on in the soap world, always has an unscented choice. But did they really want to guess at which scents shampooers would want? Not this time.
They made a blend of traditional hair essential oils, coming up with the Fresh Scent aroma.
